I'm sorry for the lack of Blog entries but I've been tied up with my vBulletin board. (http://www.elfislandforums.com/) Recently during my study halls (at least I'm working... right?) I've been making sketches for my original plan of "Pixar Place". I've created the map and now it's time for the park. If you haven't seen the map scroll to the bottom and you'll find it.

The Concept

I'm creating this idea based on the Pixar films and the current Pixar Place street in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Just so you all will know what I'm talking about, here it the concept (lame graphics... I know, that's why it's concept!)

So let's get right into it. When you enter the park you'll walk under the Pixar gate/sign that is currently at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but a much larger version. Once you pass through the turnstiles you'll find shopping and information both to your right and left. You'll also notice along the entire path way will be trees and benches, which will allow more places for guests to cool down and relax.

Now you may be wondering why there is this empty circle in the middle. Well, what all Disney parks have in common? An icon of course! For "Pixar Place" Theme Park I've created the idea of using the famous Luxo Jr as the icon for the park. I'm sure you're thinking... "oh, a lamp, how exciting..." Of course with that little "Disney Touch" it wouldn't be just any lamp, it would actually me an animatronic. It won't move around the entire park (since I'm imagining this being VERY large scale) but from the mid-point up it will. During the evening hours it's light bulb will shine bright creating a cool effect as it spins and moves around curiously. And there is always some special holiday touch for it too...

Continuing down the main street you'll find a 4D show about all the Pixar Films... or a Pixar Short. (haven't decided) On the right side you'll find a Preview Center for upcoming Disney-Pixar films. You'll find posters, concept art, and models. (maybe even special previews...) At the very top of the park (from left to right) there will be an "Online" section. Here is where you'll find "The World of Pixar" which is another online world I was thinking of. Off of it would be "Toy Story ONLINE" where you can create a toy and roam around a house where you feel as small as a toy. (but that's for another entry...) Then you'll see a tunnel OR pathway (similar to EPCOT) where it will be bring you to another land. A land that I left out was Carsland which would go good in one of the back areas. In the middle will be the exhibit wing which you'll find concepts, videos, models, posters, etc about current and past Disney-Pixar films and shorts. Continuing across will lead you into the "How do they do it?" section. Here is where you can learn some tips on how Disney-Pixar creates these realistic films all by animation. Maybe you'll just walk out an animator too! Oh, and everyone loves stage shows, so I through in a stage last minute. Nothing really thought out though.

Now for the major parts of the parks: Themed Lands. As I just mentioned, the rest of the park is filled with other lands based on famous Disney-Pixar Films. (left out Carsland) Each one of these will feel like you're entering the actual movie. Want to feel the size of an ant? Then a bug's life area is perfect for you. This idea and attractions will be very similar to Disney California Adventure's land based on bug's life. Across the way will be Monsters Inc. which will have the feel of the pre-show area for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. You want feel tiny, but maybe a little bit smaller is more life it. I'm not sure what they can exactly put for attractions other then a major Monsters Inc. factory that made you feel like you're really inside the factory. There would be many halls you can walk down, meet monsters, and even ride a few rides. Going back to the left side will be an underwater land based on Nemo. I know Nemo has been a bit over kill but you have to face it that kids still LOVE Nemo. This would be one of my favorites in the creative imagining part. I already hand drew some concepts for a metal roof canopy style that would go along the entire stop of this land making it look like waves... and when night falls it's something a tad bit different. On the top of the shop roof will be lights that create a blue/white "wave" effect along this metal canopy roof creating the feeling that you really ARE underwater. Attractions for Nemo could be a clamobile adventure, smiliar to EPCOT's; or you could "rise" to the surface and ride in submarines, just like at Disneyland. You will also be able to "grab shell" with Crush's Coaster straight from Disneyland Paris Resort. Across from Nemo would be Toy Story - one of Pixar's most famous films. Here you'll feel like you ARE the size of a toy! There will be many great adventures such as Midway Mania, Buzz Lightyears Astro Blasters, and kids play areas. This will also be home to a huge Mr. Potato Head factory.

(ALL lands have some version of a restaurant or fast food area)

Once again, these are my ideas just using Disney & Pixar's inspiration. None of this has been said by Disney, it's just concept by me. If you have any questions please contact me via WDWMagic.com (Exprcoofto) or ElfIslandForums.com (slinkyman).

Well, that about wraps it up for today! If anyone needs to find me I'll be at elfisalndforums.com which is a community board and fansite for the new MMO Elf Island. Thanks for reading!

-Exprcoofto

Virtual Disney World

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to introduce my idea: Virtual Disney World. I have been thinking of this idea ever since Disney closed their Virtual Magic Kingdom. Well this is somewhat like that, just at a much larger scale. ;)

Virtual Disney World would be the entire Walt Disney World Resort in Florida - but as a 3D multiplayer online world. Inside this "Disney World" you can almost everything you can do at the park! Ride attractions (certain ones!), eat some yummy Park Snacks (Dole Whip anyone?), and even WORK at the park. (the Virtual one of course)

Customization-
I find this to be really big in recent online worlds. If you cannot customize things then you will simply have people no longer interested in your product. In "VDW" you will be able to completely customize your character. Shape, size, skin color, hair color, eye color, face style, hair style, etc. You will also be able to change clothing inside the game to give yourself that "unique" look. Clothing will be sold at major shops in the parks. (Emporium, Mouse Gears, etc.)

Also, along with customization will be Player's Rooms. Every player can buy certain types of rooms. If you do not pay (yes, I did say pay) you will only be able to buy small "hotel" style rooms. If you pay the monthly subscription you will be able to buy grand style "Apartment" type rooms. Every room you can customize the walls, flooring, and decorate with MANY furniture items. The main difference between the huge VDW and player's rooms (besides that they are owned by players) is that the view is stationary. In the rest of VDW you can rotate your screen a complete 360, but in player's rooms you will only have one stationary view from the top corner of the room looking down. (You buy rooms inside Disney Hotels)

Attractions, shows, jobs, etc.
Inside VDW you will only be able to see CERTAIN attractions/shows. The major rides; Pirates, Mansion, Test Track, Everest, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and a few more classics you will be able to ride. The rest may be turned into games. Take Toy Story Mania for an example. When you enter the queue you will actually enter the Arcade Style game. Depending on your score will depend on how much "D-Money" you earn. D-Money is the currency in VDW. You can buy clothing, furniture, etc.

You might even be able to see shows like Dream Along with Mickey, Beauty and the Beast, and Lights Motors Action. All characters will be "NPCs" aka Non-Player Characters. They will only be programed to do the show. And of course every night will end with a bang. You will be able to watch Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc. Since I would love to see this so much like the real thing the online world will run off the same time as Eastern time. So when the real Wishes is going on in WDW it will also be going on in VDW.

Now some of you are probably wondering... Jobs? Well you have to make D-Money somewhere! You will be able to do many different things. These things could be anywhere from checking lap bars on Everest to cleaning trash up around the park. Based on how long you do work (based on real minutes) will depend on how much you are paid. Once you leave your position (even after 5 min) an NPC will take your place until another player wants to do that job.

More Magic
Overall it will feel as if you are really in WDW. You can visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney, golf courses, all hotels, etc. Your character can go through stages like "Hungry, Full, Starving, etc." which means you have to stay on top of everything from eating and earning money. Also, if you only eat park snacks, you might just see your character growing in size, which would then mean you need to some running. ;) You will also be able to ride Disney Buses, Monorail, Boats, etc.

I am going to keep adding onto this idea. All of this is my idea of a new Virtual Online world. None of this was said by Disney. None of this is official - just my concept.

With all of that said... I leave you with a semi-done graphic of the VDW Log-in.

Elf Island Forums - Open!

You can now visit my forum for the new online game Elf Island. What in the world is an ECOTECH?

You heard it right, ECOTECH. It's a design I've been thinking of for a re-Imagined Wonders of Life pavilion. The pavilion is how we all can use technology to help make our planet a better place. So before I go into great details about this pavilion here are a few versions of the logo I created.

The idea for ECOTECH was something I thought of when falling asleep a few days ago. I came about it when thinking of the Disney-Pixar films WALL-E. Since the movie isn't out around the world, I will not go into detail about the movie and how it exactly relates to this.

As I mentioned the ECOTECH pavilion will replace the Wonders of Life pavilion that hardly opens anymore. (and if it does, it's mainly for events) When designing my idea I kept it relatively easy. They could use the same building structure with a few minor modifications. One plan I had was for the tip-top of the roof to point downward. When it rained, the water would collect in the middle and be brought through a series of tubes into a sort of Water Works section. Inside this section you would learn how using technical know-how we can change the acid-like rain into clean water. The water could be used for watering plants, filling pools, or even flushing toilets

There will be other hands-on activities inside the pavilion that has to do with global warming, saving the earth, and ensuring a good future. One major idea I had was for the Cranium Command, a past attraction where you are watching a character named Buzzy control a human being. Instead, it could be changed around to control WALL-E or EVE. Seeing how both of them are robots and have great personalities this would be a perfect opportunity for this.

Well that seems to be it for now. If you have any ideas to add on you are welcome post a comment including them. Right now that is the basics, I might think more in-depth about this in the future and add a few minor touches. Keep an eye out for more mini artwork I've created in the past.

Oh-- I almost forgot, I made a retro style logo for this pavilion. It's a cross between the OLD Internet logo and some other EPCOT logos.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://miniimagineering.blogspot.com/2008/07/ecotech-what-in-world-is-ecotech.html' title='ECOTECH? On this street there will be an attraction called Amateur Animator, where you can spend a while learning how professionals made the movies, then take a swing at it yourself! After that, you can head on down to the Pixar Hall of Fame where you will find concept art, models, and videos of the past, current, and future Pixar Films. (including the short films!) After that, grab a bite for Lunch or Dinner at Animator's Palate. Animator's Palate is featured on the Disney Cruise Line. As you dine the entire room goes from black and white to color, revealing your favorite Disney characters but this time they will reveal Pixar characters.

After you are finished with "Pixar Lane/Street" you can choose from themed lands based after those hit Pixar Films. Whether you want to be as small as a bug, dive to the deeps with Nemo, or have some funny-fun in Monstropolis is all up to you.

Well there you have it! The beginning idea of Pixar Place Theme Park. In the future I will be editing the inside of a Disney's Hollywood Studios Guide Map and then turn it into a complete Pixar Place Guide Map.

That's all for now but keep an eye open for "ECOTECH"... ;)

To all who come to this happy place... welcome.

Welcome to mini Imagineering blog!

This blog is created to show ideas, edits, and general Graphic Artwork I've made through the years.
